What is the base currency?
• Base Currency is the first currency quoted in
pair of foreign currency.
For example, EUR / USD as 1EUR: USD = 1.4200/03
• EUR is the basic currency.
• The base currency is always quoted as an
against the cited / reference currrency.
• The above quote means for every 1 Euro you
sell you get 1.4200 U.S. dollars (bid) and
pay 1.4203 U.S. dollar (sold) to get 1 euro
